Privacy Policy for Momory

This policy explains which data the Momory app for iOS processes, when photos leave the device, and which external services are involved.

Controller

Refki Meholli · DevRef Softwareentwicklung, Cusanushof 54, 41812 Erkelenz, Germany.

Data on your device

Photos, places, recognised items, corrections and settings are stored on the device. They stay there until you delete them in the app or remove the app. Without a subscription and without your own API key, no photo leaves the device: recognition runs entirely on device.

Analysis with a subscription

  • The photo is sent to our server and from there to Google Gemini for analysis
  • A randomly generated device ID without personal reference, used to match the subscription
  • The Apple-signed purchase receipt, used to verify the subscription status
  • Time, selected model and number of tokens used, for billing and abuse prevention
  • IP address and technical connection data, for operation and security

Photos are not stored on our server. They are processed for the duration of the request only and discarded afterwards. We keep the device ID, the subscription status and usage counters.

Analysis with your own key

If you enter your own API key in the settings, photos are sent directly to the provider you selected. Our server is not involved. The provider's terms apply in addition.

Purposes and legal bases

  • Providing recognition and search: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR
  • Handling and verifying the subscription: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR
  • Abuse prevention, limits and technical security: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR

Retention and deletion

Usage data is deleted after the billing period, at the latest after twelve months. The link between device ID and subscription ends with the subscription. Local data can be deleted at any time in the app settings or by removing the app.

No ads, no tracking

Momory contains no advertising, no analytics SDK and no cross-device tracking.

Your rights

Within the legal framework you have the right to information, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

External services

With an active subscription, image recognition runs through Google Gemini. Google processes the transmitted photo and technical connection data as a processor. Details are available in the Google privacy policy.

Purchases and subscriptions are handled by Apple. Apple processes payment and account data under its own responsibility according to the Apple privacy policy. Apple privacy policy.

Contact

Please send privacy requests and deletion requests by email. The device ID shown in the app settings is enough to identify your data.
